The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday mid-May through October on Church Street, downtown Fredonia. It features a variety of vendors, with special events TBA. A number of vendors accept EBT, NYS Farmers Market Nutrition checks and WIC vegetables and fruits checks.

William “Bill” Neubecl Corner at the South Dayton Depot, 1 p.m. The station agent of many years will be honoted with a plaque. Refreshments will be served after the dedication. The event is open to the public.
Rural Ministry’s Street Fair Extravaganza
Lakeshore Drive East, Dunkirk, between the Clarion Hotel and Tim Horton’s. Food trucks and artisan vendors 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beer and wine sales, a hot dog stand, a chicken barbecue (presale tickets available), a yard sale and a bouce house for young children. Music all day includes a DJ from noon to 1:30 p.m., a local chorus at 1:45 p.m., and a live performance by the rising from 4 to 7 p.m. nominal fees for different types of vendors. Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday 10-year anniversary
The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold an anniversary celebration from noon to 4 p.m. The public is welcome to tour the building. Explore dog and cat adoption. Enjoy live music from local musicians, door prizes/baskets, face painting for kids, nail clippings for doggies and have a complimentary piece of anniversary cake. Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be provided for a small fee. The first 100 people will receive a 10-year anniversary magnet. Individual appointments are available throughout the week by leaving a message at 716 672-1991; press “1” for dogs or “2” for cats. One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet.

Chautauqua Golf Club’s Lake Course. Registration and lunch at noon with a 1 pm. Shotgun start. Entry fee of $95 a player or $380 a foursome, includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, two drink tickets and dinner. Followed by an awards reception, giveaways and steak dinner at the American Legion William L. Travis Post 493, 3 E. Marvin St., Mayville. All proceeds help low-moderate income families in Chautauqua County.
CREATE Project: capturing footage for the documentary film “Tradition, Trauma, & Tenderness”
Dunkirk Memorial Park, 1 to 3 p.m. The film will educate communities about trauma; its impact on children, and how traditions, shared in a tender, nurturing environment, can help children heal and grow. All are welcome to join in a Native American Social Dance Circle. Light refreshments will be served and activities will be available in between takes for children. Individuals and organizations can register at create-project.com/ Participants are encouraged to wear traditional dress of their culture or to carry something to symbolize their culture. Community members are also encouraged to wear or carry something that symbolizes their occupation or interests.
